What a huge pain in the ass...

Okay kitties, I know that it had been a tremendously long period of time between updates on my site, but hey, until the millions start flowing into my PO Box (which they haven't recently, don't you love me?) I'm not able to devote days to updating and changing things around.

That said, I do have a huge archive full of photos that have yet to be plundered.

So I took one day out of my Memorial Day weekend (which as I've previously mentioned, I had no plans for) and made myself useful. Many changes all over the site, and some needed maintenance to make the search engines like me again (I just wanna be loved....). I finally got around to building that site map you've been asking, no begging me for Google!

Many galleries just had to come down - they're ancient, and some didn't work properly, hopefully I fixed all of the broken links (thanks to some slaves for pointing them out to me), made some new banners, put up some new fetish photos, and changed that entrance page to something more exciting.

Well one can hope anyway.

I feel good today for a change...

First day I've woken up in a decent mood in ages.

No idea why, no reason why. I think the medication just kicked in.

For those who don't know, I have thyroid disease, an autoimmune disorder where my body is slowly consuming my thyroid gland (yum yum). This is managed by taking daily synthetic hormones to replace those that my currently underfunctioning gland cannot. Something so very simple that can mess up your entire metabolism, and I mean every single system in your body.

I don't say the C word anymore after many biopsies and ultrasounds (just imagine how much fun that is when done on your neck...). While I relish dishing out pain I really hate it myself, but am too much of a control freak to let my doctors know it - they just think that I like to get it over with (which I do) or that I have a high tolerance for pain (which I don't).

So it's a balancing act to keep the hormone levels on an even keel - taking a pill could never replicate the ebbs and flows that a healthy thyroid gland produces. So most days I feel like shit.

Not today, tho.

I wonder what that means.... will I be meaner or nicer to my purrsonal slaves?

The oddest thing, for someone who has been a life-long cat enthusiast, is that recently I've been thinking of adding a canine (a real one, not a human-like poor equivalent) to my menagerie.

Can't seem to get it out of my head, wanting a companion to take around with me. The cats I currently have are not enthusiastic about leaving the house (the two felines that I had until they passed away not that long ago were always excited to come out with me on harness), and I'm thinking that means doggie.

Airedale terrier, specifically.

But that means work is involved - finding the right breeder and then the right puppy - in my copious free time I've been cruising all of the puppy sites on the internet.... who knew all this was out there? So maybe if I find the right little guy with the right combination of sweetness and spice (and one that the kitties can keep in line) maybe I'll go over to "the dark side" - canine, that is.

My amazing dungeon, Kismet

I really, really, really miss having my own dungeon studio. When I lost it (after first the flood, then the crazy landlord, then my health problems) it felt like losing a limb. Every kitty needs a lair, and while I don't think I'd ever engage a physical space as large as the original Kismet again, I really do want a new space to play in.

To shoot photos, videos, beat the occasional slave who tickles my fancy.

LA is not the best place in the world to find small, unusual spaces anymore, and I've been thinking of changing my locale for some time. Stay tuned - I know myself pretty well by now, and when the studio bug bites me (as it's stinging now) I'll probably try to find something soon...

The Flakiness Factor

Kittens, I've been doing this for a loooooooong time. Almost 15 years have gone by since I first picked up a whip in earnest and called myself a Professional Dominatrix. Something I've never taken lightly, and something I've never stopped learning about. Although I have retired from full-time domination, it's not something that gets out of the system easily, kind of a disease that lays dormant and rears it's ugly head from time to time to let you know exactly who's boss. So occasionally, I strap on the corset and boots for a professional commitment.

One of the things that has always surprised me is exactly how high the flakiness factor is in this business - and yes, it is a business - amongst Dominas, clients, and slaves. Not showing up, promising the world, consistantly breaking plans, backstabbing, blaming, lateness, unpreparedness, oh I could go on and on. It's one of the reasons I don't do very much publicly anymore, I don't attend events or do shows, and only occasionally work with photographers or other professionals whose work I admire.

It never abates - even something as simple as email communication and commitment is too diffcult for some people.

Grrrrrrrrrr.
